Every two years, the Technology Association of Grantmakers (TAG) conducts the State of Philanthropy Tech (SOPT) Survey, the field’s most comprehensive look at how grantmakers are using, managing, and resourcing technology today.
The 2026 survey explores key areas including technology investment, systems and infrastructure, data and artificial intelligence (AI), and digital risk management. It provides a sector-wide view of current practices, organizational capacity, and emerging priorities, equipping leaders to make more informed decisions about staffing, governance, investment, and innovation.

Who Should Participate
This survey is designed for grantmaking organizations. It is best completed by individuals with visibility into organizational operations, technology, and strategy, including:

To ensure high-quality, accurate data, TAG is using a unique survey link for each organization.

How to Complete the Survey
1. Use your organization’s unique survey link to begin
2. Share the link internally so colleagues can complete relevant sections
3. Click “Next” to save your progress before exiting or handing off
4. Submit one final survey per organization by July 10, 2026
