TAG Slack
A Conversation Space for TAG Members
Community is Vital
Your membership with the Technology Association of Grantmakers (TAG) provides access to our community Slack workspace.
There, you can safely connect with peers, ask questions/receive answers, and share insights on what “works” in your organization. TAG is full of leaders, learners, and problem-solvers who value pragmatic tools as well as opportunities to become more strategic. Listen, learn, and lead with the TAG community supporting you.
Join the Discussion
This Slack workspace is open to all current TAG members and is the “go-to” for peer learning, connection, and knowledge-sharing across philanthropy tech. Contact the Director of Community Engagement for your invitation.
Please note that the TAG Slack is a solicitation-free zone. Consultant and Vendor members may post promotional materials in the #plugs-and-promo channel only. Read the Slack Code of Conduct (PDF) for more information.
What is the TAG Slack?
Slack is a channel-based messaging platform. More specifically, it is where members of TAG can connect with peers regarding trends in IT and philanthropy and find the information they need to do their best work — all within a secure, enterprise-grade environment.
Conversation is broken into “channels” in order to organize discussions. Here is how the TAG channels are structured:
- all-about-ai – tools, risks/ethics, and peer insights (Member-led).
- #coffee-break – less tech, more connect. A great place to for informal sharing.
- #cybersecurity – risk, security, and governance topics (Member-led).
- #data-strategy – data practices, stewardship, and trends (Member-led).
- #plugs-and-promo – an opportunity for self-promotion and the space where all members, but especially consultants/vendors, can post promotions and events.
- #tag-announcements – the first place to go for important TAG updates (conference, membership, etc.)
- #tag-general – the “big tent” for conversations on everything philanthropy/tech (tools, knowledge sharing, questions for peers, etc.)
In addition, TAG offers the following private channels and/or user groups which are member-led:
- #communityfoundations-private – space for community foundation staff to share and connect with other community foundations. No vendors, please.
- #fluxx-users – a private place to ask questions and share tips with fellow platform users. No vendors, please.
- #foundant-users – a private place to ask questions and share tips with fellow platform users. No vendors, please.
- #salesforce-users – a private place to ask questions and share tips with fellow platform users. No vendors, please.
- #women-in-tech – a networking space for women in philanthropy tech, by women in philanthropy tech. By invitation only.
