TAG “Sector Stewards” Support Conference Scholarships, Emerging Leaders Initiative

Jan 28, 2019

The Technology Affinity Group (TAG) proudly announces the launch of the “Sector Stewards” membership program which provides next generation leadership development, as well as scholarships to its sought-after annual conference.

“Sector Stewards are leading organizations committed to sector-wide excellence and impact,” says TAG Executive Director, Chantal Forster. “Through the Sector Stewards program, organizations such as The Walton Family Foundation are helping us in building a pipeline of future leaders in philanthropy as well as extending the extraordinary opportunity of the TAG conference to organizations with limited staff development budgets.”

About the Sector Stewards Membership

New in 2019, the Sector Steward membership is designed to demonstrate a commitment to sector-wide initiatives. Dues from the $10,000 Sector Steward membership include financial support for TAG’s Emerging Leaders Initiative devoted to the development of the next generation of leaders in philanthropy. Additionally, each Sector Steward membership provides a scholarship to the annual TAG conference, enabling smaller organizations to attend the flagship event of the year in philanthropy tech.

“The importance of peer-to-peer learning and being able to attend conferences cannot be overstated,” says Tracie Mooneyham, Program and Grants Manager at the Robins Foundation in Richmond, Virginia. “Without the benefit of scholarships, so many of us in the sector would continue to struggle to get ahead of the technology curve.”

Foundations are invited to support these programs and more by joining TAG as a Sector Steward. The scholarship program will launch in time for TAG2019 to be held in Miami from November 18-21, 2019.

“The Walton Family Foundation is proud to support TAG and its efforts to ensure emerging technologists and leaders have access to mentorship and resources, driving impact across the philanthropic sector,” says Walton’s Chief Information Officer Sam Caplan.
